Frequently Asked Questions

Not yet. CareLoop is specifically designed for people aged 16 years and older who have experienced psychosis. Your support team must recommend you the app before you can use it. You also need to have access to a smartphone to download it. You should let your support team know if you don’t have access to a smartphone and they may be able to help.

You will receive a reminder each day. Reminders will arrive at different times during the day.

Check reminders are turned on by going to Settings > Reminders on your phone.

We recommend keeping reminders on as it can be difficult to remember to answer the CareLoop questions regularly. You can turn reminders off by going to Settings > Reminders on your phone.

Once you receive a reminder you can access the questionnaire by opening the App and clicking the ‘Start Questions’ button. You will answer questions by moving the marker along the line shown to select the most accurate description of you feel today. Some questions may need you to select one answer by tapping the answer on the screen most accurate for you today.

You may have more questions one day compared to another, but it should only take around 1-2 mins to complete a daily questionnaire.

You can use other functions in the App or close the App and continue to use your phone as normal.

Your answers are uploaded to a secure server. They are then available to you in the My Data section of the App and to your support team in their dashboard.

Answers to the questions asked in the App are available to you and your support team. Entries in the Mood Diary are private to you and only available in the App. You can find full details of how CareLoop collects, transfers and uses your data in our Privacy Poilcy .

Try to answer all the questions and don’t spend too long thinking about your answer. Your first instinct is usually the right answer!

If you experience any difficult feelings when answering the questions, you may like to speak to someone. You can find local and national helpline numbers, and text message support, in the Support section of the app. You can also seek support from someone you know (e.g. a friend or family member) or from a health professional (e.g. your GP or key worker)

It is helpful to answer the CareLoop questions frequently, ideally every day. However, if you miss a day don’t worry you can answer the next day.

The answers you give each day are used to create the graphs in the My Data section of the App. You can use these graphs to help understand patterns in your experience of psychosis. The graphs will appear after the first week of answer questions.

Graphs will appear in the My Data section after the first week of answering questions. If you have been using the App for more than a week and there are no graphs in the My Data section please contact support@careloop.health

Yes. In the Resources section you can find lots of useful information including a Mood Diary, information on common problems and coping strategies you can use to help manage your thoughts and feelings.

The Mood Diary is available to you in the resources section, and lets you enter short diary notes about how you have been feeling. You can create as many notes are you want on each day. This is useful to help as a reminder of how you’ve been feeling over time and can help you explain to other people how you’ve been feeling. Your notes are private to you, they are not shared with your support works and are only available in the App.

You cannot access your support team or crisis services through the app. In the Support section you will find contact details for national and local support groups and crisis services.

If you are concerned about an immediate risk of harm to yourself or someone else phone 999, or if you need an urgent Mental Health assessment or urgent physical care visit the Accident and Emergency Department (A&E). You can also seek support from someone you know (e.g. a partner, family member or friend), from a health professional (e.g. your GP or key worker), or from one of the helplines listed in the Support section in the app.

People who use the app regularly find it helps them understand and manage their illness but you can stop using the app at anytime. If you stop using the app, you will continue to receive your usual care.

If you are very unwell or feel you need urgent help, you should contact your support team or a crisis service directly. You cannot contact your support team through the CareLoop App.
